Hey da, just bumped on to your blog..Nice one.. Along with the team, therez this channel nine for their support..What a shame !! Looks like am missing a lota games these days and news on paper as well...Gone are the days of blog and its just slog now :(.. Btw..come up with something on 'Mr.Pup' , so called future skipper of oz , who stood his ground even after apparently edging to the first slip and later claiming that "more than anything,he was shocked" , whereas the replays showed clearly that , he was waiting for a lucky escape from the umpires, which unfortunately din happen for him :)...High time that all these crimes are bought to light ..
So nice to see such a comprehensive analysis on symond's catch. When I saw the highlights after the match the next day morning, I just had a small doubt in my mind on the catch, but until i read this blog I never thought the Aussies would repeat the same thing again (after all that happened in the test series). I am not arguing that the decision turned the game for Australia, but it is pathetic to see that a champion team needs help from such sources to prove their merit.
Very true guys, the Australian team seem to be so ingrained with the policy of 'win at all costs' and the concept of ethics are fair play have gone out of the window.
As Sreenidhi said after all that we saw during the test series, this is totally appalling.
And in this case there is no way Symonds can say he didnt know the ball hit the ground.
@Kartik Yes, Mr.Pup seems to be following in the footsteps of Punter, right from the upturned collar while batting to claiming grassed catches!
A few years ago, sometime during the 2003 World Cup, I guess, I read an article in the Sports section of "The Hindu".... An article in which the author had lamented that Cricket didn't seem to have a Brazil.... Brazil, as we all know, end up being the best most of the time and they are also believed to be the cleanest players of the game that they rule.... Of course, there have been incidents where guys like Rivaldo have faked a few things.... But, mostly, they are believed to be ones who play the game in true sportsman spirit.... Coming back to this article in "The Hindu", the author was pointing to the fact that Australia did rule the Cricket world, but not the clean way most of the time.... I, personally, believe Cricket did have a Brazil at some point of time in the past.... When the West Indies had been ruling the Cricket world.... Now, the truly sportive Windies don't win anymore.... The winning Australians don't play the game like they need to play a game!!!!
Excellent analogy Ram!! The Windies team of the 70s and 80s were loved by one and all for the way they went about the game whereas the Australian teams do not find favour with the public, though they win a lot of matches.

"If you're questioning my integrity, you probably shouldn't be here" - Ricky Ponting to an Indian journo. Looks like Andrewbhai thinks the same way.
Gone are ethics on the field. Too bad this comes from a team that once stayed on top on sheer competence. Sigh.
