In the land of the Rupee so many dollars flying around is absolutely unbelievable. Many people including my mom are wondering "Who is spending whose money?", an interesting question indeed.
You can get more detailed information here.

Expected a blog from you on this :)
How exactly does this work? Who are the big guns financing each team?
The amount of money involved is simply staggering. Hopefully this doesn't destroy the game.
I guess this is similar to EPL, right?
But I feel that atleast miniscule portion of this money can go towards sponsoring other sports in India. There seems to be a marginal rise in corporate sponsorship of other sports, but this is not enough. People like P.T.Usha are toiling towards helping atheletes with talent. Hope they get some financial help. Come this august, we're in for another humiliation in Beijing.
Well, it only looks like no one is spending his or her own money!!!!
@Vijay
Have edited the post and added info on the owners and cost for each of the eight teams.
Yes in a way it is same as the EPL.
Too much money is never a good thing, and yes some money flowing into other sports will go a long way in improving India's overall sporting face.
@Ram
Very true, business at its very best :)
