Birthday and more!!!!

It has been a while since I last wrote something here. This was because of a combination of not having time and not having enough enthu to write.
hmm so here I am again to scribble something that comes to my head.

Birthdays---- how important are birthdays?? Well it is the day that you were born on earth and so it is highly important that you be grateful for that. I have always been happy on most of my birthdays, I guess there is inherent joy in knowing that a day is special for you. Friends and relatives make birthdays the most wonderful events, if I am asked to remember the last few birthdays then the first thing that comes to mind is the way my friends celebrate my birthday....simply awesome. I guess that is enough on birthdays.....

I recently happened to visit a few places so some thoughts on my trips........
Firstly it was Gods own country--Kerala..That trip was a short but extremely nostalgic one. Nostalgic because I was visiting my birthplace after a decade. The weather was absolutely awesome, lots and lots of rain, a huge difference from dry hot chennai. As a friend of mine rightly remarked the green of the trees gives you the difference, there the leaves are rich green and lustrous whereas here they are dull and lifeless. Weather apart it was interesting to note how little things have changed there...communist rule is pretty evident when you see most of the shops closed on a sunday. That was Chennai is a whole lot advanced than places like Eranankulam and Cochin.
Then last week it was Valliyur and Madurai. Valliyur is a small place near Tirunelveli and is famous for its Murugan temple. The interesting thing about the temple is that it is inside a hill i.e The sanctum sanctorum comes right under the peak of the hill. Then it was Madurai, the temple city. They say that nobody goes to Madurai and comes back without visiting the Meenakshi temple. The temple is a really massive structure with entrances on all the four directions and huge gopurams. But the crowd was horrible, and I happen to be allergic to crowds so that was not a happy experience. Neverthless the temple shone with magnificence and is a place to be seen. Madurai as a town is like a Mylapore or a triplicane....ancient and congested with people, especially in the streets around the temple.

All in all I had a good time 'going places'.

The clearer we should see through it"
