Blogging again

Ha...Finally am blogging again!!!

A new place, a new country, a new experience.....
I am now in the United States of America...y did I come here? Was it because it was my dream to come to this so called land of opportunities...No. Was it because I hated India and wanted to get away...No. Was it because I wanted to do a Masters in Electrical Engineering real bad...Not really....then y on earth am I here...Well to tell the truth I do not have an answer to that question. But the fact is that I have left everything I love back home and am here in the US doing my MS in EE and that is something that cannot be changed now.

Well now that I am in the US do I want to make it my country? Ha..I do know the answer to this one..its an emphatic NO!!...are you kidding...India is home and it is my intention to get back there as soon as I possibly can. The culture, the tradition, the heritage, the people, the temples, the language all these and much much more endears me to my country and no matter what the facilities available anywhere in the world...there can be no place like home!!!

Interaction with Americans has given me an idea of how outsiders look at India. One thing I know is that most foreigners have two views of India...One is the brilliant culture, architecture and all the goodness....and the second is the picture of poverty, illiteracy, and all the negative aspects. Hence most of them have a mixed view about the country. But all the same they always end up saying "I want to visit that country..I have heard so much about it"...It really is good to get an external perspective of your country, it makes you all the more proud of your motherland.

So the lesson I have learnt is that you realize how much something or someone means to you only when you dont have that thing/person around .

(I promise to try and keep blogging this time around. A fresh beginning!!)
