I am back!!!!!!!!!!

Its been eons since I have typed anything in here. Work work and more work...well thats always the excuse aint' it...but then I am back here and will try to make up for all the lost time!!!

ASHES & THE SUPER SERIES

As usual a cricket blog from me.
No superlatives can describe the series that was the ASHES-2005. Put simply it was the best cricket series that I have ever seen and probably the best of the century. Never have I seen consecutive test matches(4 to be precise) with fluctuating fortunes and the possibility of either team winning until the final ball is bowled.
Kudos to all the players for making it such a great spectacle.

Aftermath of the Ashes

There is already a lot of talk about how England have replaced the men from down under as the numero uno. But as Dravid rightly put it England have a long way to go before they stake a claim for that position. Away tours to India and Pakistan are acid tests by the end of which the world will know what this English team is really made of. Watch out guys.............

Super-Series

The much awaited and the much hyped Johnnie Walker super series has proved to be a damp squib. It is always a tough ask for 14 champion cricketers to come together as a team and perform with the same fervour as they would when they play for their own countries. It was very evident from the first two matches and the poor attendence did not help either. None of the World-X1 batters have fired big time. Lara is clearly short of match practise and the aussies must be really happy about this as he is generally a thorn in their flesh. But the biggest let down for cricket lovers around the world was when Sachin said he would not be fit for the super series. Lara and Sachin at the crease together was the spectacle that every cricket fan was looking forward to, and this was probably the last chance that could have happened.
Hopefully the super test will be more competitive and the Aussies will not be allowed to forget their English nightmares.

Rest is next folks!!!!
